PREGNANCY JOURNEY

Since becoming a certified Holistic Health & Nutrition Coach, I have had my first child, and grown as an individual, new mom and coach. Now, as I prepare to welcome my second child, I have learned even more, specifically, that no two pregnancies are alike - ha! I was inspired to start sharing my second pregnancy journey here after realizing how many fellow moms have shared in these ups and downs. All are welcome to share your thoughts and experiences!

Finely Nourished Pregnancy Journey

Q. How many weeks are you, and how are you feeling at this stage?

I will be 25 weeks on Wednesday

Q. Any specific cravings?

Fruit! I was never really a fruit person, but I’ve been eating fruit a few times a day, and the craving is still going strong!

Q. Any interesting changes in your body lately?

I’m actually having a hard time sleeping. This is something I have heard is really common with many pregnancies, but I honestly never had this issue with my first pregnancy - I had it so easy and didn’t even know it!

Q. What are some differences that you notice from this pregnancy compared to your last pregnancy?

Not sleeping well, Im gaining less weight this time around because I am more active and chasing around 1 year old!

Q. Is there anything that has been a bit tough for you lately? Any health issues or struggles?

Just the Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction, but that will likely be a part of this journey until the baby actually arrives. I am much more sore on the days that I’m alone with Enzo all day. I am lucky that my husband works from home on the days I am home, and we have a nanny a few days a week, so I can still see clients and make new programs.

Q. How many weeks along are you, and how are you feeling?

23 weeks! Feeling ok. Tired and having pain due to the Pubic Symphysis Dysfunction. Started seeing a physical therapist just recently, so hopefully it doesn’t get any worse!

Q. Any specific cravings?

Fruit! I usually don't eat a ton of fruit, if any, but right now I can NOT get enough of it. Berries, Peaches, Plums and frozen grapes are my go-to's

Q. Any interesting changes in your body lately?

This morning on my 2 mile walk I noticed I am starting to have a waddle - ha! It’s also starting to get more difficult getting in and out of our bed at night.

Q. What are some differences that you notice from this pregnancy compared to your last pregnancy?

A TON! This time around, I had really bad morning sickness, to where I was throwing up multiple times per day, up until 18 weeks - It was brutal! I have much more overall body pains, which I definitely didn’t have last time. But of course, this time, I’m also dealing with PSD.

Q. Is there anything that has been a bit tough for you lately? Any health issues or struggles?

The Pubic Symphysis is the worst. I really had no idea what it was, and now I know it goes undiagnosed ALL the time. I don't think its talked about enough, and I really want to share how to handle it.

First Trimester

October 1, 2018

My first trimester of this second pregnancy, was a completely different experience than my first pregnancy - we’re talking complete opposite ends of the spectrum! Looking back now, I realize how awesome and easy going my first pregnancy was. Pretty much right out of the gate this time around, I had extreme morning sickness where I threw up for 18 weeks, and body pains I had never experienced before. You can read more about my experience with Pubis Symphysis Dysfunction (PSD) over on the blog - I shared an entire piece breaking down what it is, and why so many pregnant women go undiagnosed! That’s when I decided to start documenting my pregnancy journey, in hopes of connecting with fellow moms who have shared in the same experiences!
