What's included in the Kitchari Cleanse group class?

As we gear up for the new year, I’m preparing for the Kitchari Cleanse group class, and thought it’d be a great time to dive deep into what this class offers, and break down how the cleanse will unfold. If you missed the last blog post on the history and benefits of Kitchari, you can catch up over here!

To recap, Kitchari means “mixture”, and typically consists of two grains. Kitchari is basic to the Ayurvedic way of life. Composed of basmati rice and mung dal, it has as many variations as there are cooks who prepare it. A one-pot dish, kitchari originates on the Asian subcontinent and has references dating back thousands of years. The skillful use of spices and vegetables can produce balancing effects for the three bodily doshas. It has many qualities but being quick and easy to prepare makes it a popular dish for almost every lifestyle.

This cleanse focuses on internally resetting your body, and restoring your digestive system with nutrients. In this blog post, I’ll explain exactly what the Kitchari Cleanse group class entails and hopefully answer some of your FAQs!

  • When is the event?

Sunday, January 20, 2019

  • What time does the event start?

We’re kicking off at 1:30pm that Sunday, and we will be meeting virtually via Zoom for about an hour or so - depending on how many questions the group has, etc. I’m really excited to be able to offer group classes this way moving forward. I know for anyone who has littles ones at home, this should make it much more accessible!

  • How much is the event? $35 fee

The group class is $35 per person, and this will need to be paid ahead of time, at registration. Included with registration is access to the live, virtual kick-off via Zoom, all worksheets and handouts needed for the class, plus you’ll be added to the private Facebook group, and have direct access to me all week via text or phone call, for continued support and guidance.

  • Where can I sign up?

You can register over on the class page - HERE. Once you input your name and email address, I’ll reach out to check in and make sure you have everything you need to get started!

Class Essentials:

Unlike past group classes, the Kitchari Cleanse will be offered 100% virtually - with us meeting only once for the kick-off. I decided on choosing this method so that people can participate through the comfort of their own home, hopefully this will better accommodate some of the parents in the group. By offering the Kitchari Cleanse as a virtual class, this means that I won’t be able to provide you with your Kitchari kit, each participant will need to collect their own Kitchari kit from Amazon - but don’t stress, once you’ve registered, you will receive an email with everything you need, including links where you can purchase directly from Amazon. The kit items needed for the cleanse include spices, rice, and other elements specific to Kitchari; all of which can be purchased for under $25.

I always suggest RSVPing for the event on the Finely Nourished Facebook page so that you can keep up with any updates and check in with any questions you might have. Another important note, the last day to register for the Kitchari Cleanse group class is January 10th. This is to ensure enough time for each person to order their kit from Amazon -  the sooner, the better so please feel free to reach out with any additional questions in the meantime!

Once you have signed up for the class, you will be getting an email from me with everything you need to in order to access Zoom for the kick-off, an invite to the private Facebook group, as well as your detailed shopping list for Amazon. It’s best to have all of your purchased materials by January 15th so that you’re ready to go when the class begins!

This is going to be an awesome class, and I know the benefits are going to blow you away! This class is open to anyone, so be sure to share with your family and friends who may need a cleanse to start the new year - If you have any questions, you can contact me here through the website - if you’d like to go ahead and save your seat, you can do that over HERE!

Thank you!

Xoxo,

Lindsay
